What is Tantra?

The practice of Tantra is over 5,000 years old. It’s an eclectic mix of practices from around the world to step into Who You Really Are. The Shivaic tradition define Tantra as a lifestyle of following your desire in full self-awareness, with full self-love, and no self-judgment, Your desire, of course, is a reflection of your True Self. When we are living our true selves in the world, we are naturally in sync with God/Divine/Universe, Who accepts us just as we are. In Soulmates, you’ll be shown Tantra-based yogic exercises you can perform with each member of the opposite sex. The exercises are energy-based, not exercise-based. That means anyone can do them. The exercises open your heart so you can share your energy and feel your partner’s energy.

Isn’t Tantra All About Sex?

No. Tantra is about stepping into Who You Really Are. Expressing yourself sexually has a lot to do with that, though! What Will We Experience?

Soulmates Speed Dating begins with an opening circle where the “rules” of the event will be explained. Then, we’ll exchange small gifts with one another as a gesture of good will. (Small gifts? Yes. You’ll need need to bring 10 small items to exchange with each member of the opposite sex. For example, Ten feathers. Ten small gems. Ten bite-sized chocolates, etc. More on that in a bit.) After, the speed dating! You’ll watch as each wordless speed dating exercise is explained and demonstrated before experiencing it with each participate of the opposite sex. At the end of the evening, we’ll introduce ourselves by first name, talk a little bit about what we enjoyed about the evening, and then break into a social time. At that point, you can exchange contact information with folks you want to get to know more deeply, or just quietly slip out. Either way, you’ll have had a good time! Should I Bring 10 Gifts?

What Should I Wear?

Soft, clean comfy clothes. You’ll be sitting on the floor and standing in place for some of the exercises. You’ll be asked to remove your shoes before you enter the studio, so you may want socks if your feet get chilly. Please no dress clothes or tight clothing–you probably won’t be comfortable.
